[Salon] Hearing religious anti-Zionist Jews

Over twenty years ago, when I was preparing my book on Jewish opposition to Zionism, I talked with Rabbi Beck in the State of New York. We used a Yiddish interpreter since the rabbi spoke little English and I - even less Yiddish. An interview I encountered today brought back memories of that talk. I believe it is his son currently living in London (and speaking English a lot better) who explains the traditional position of anti-Zionist religious Jews. It is important to hear them directly, without the help of academics like me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td23chkYKzM

His interview also mentions Jews in Iran. I visited Iran ten years ago and met Jews in several cities. My travelogue may be of interest today: https://mondoweiss.net/2017/02/jews-iran-travelogue/
